Leaders in Training Camp (Grades 8-10)

Leaders in Training Camp (Grades 8-10)

The Leaders in Training Program is a leadership development program designed to provide teens with the skills and knowledge to interact and communicate successfully with individuals and lead groups of all ages in a fun, safe environment.

Hands-On Experience in Camp Counseling, Decision Making, Conflict Resolution and more!

This program is a stepping stone in the progression from camper to counselor-learning the skills it takes to be a camp counselor, staff member and a leader in your home, school and community!

Our Leaders in Training (LITs) help take part in our camp experience by participating in activities and helpful with campers during the camp day. LITs assist our camp staff with activities and begin to understand the responsibilities of working with children. Participating in this program will help teens feel confident in their knowledge, experience and leadership skills and be more confident decisions makers and leaders within our community. LITs are always supervised by staff when working with campers.

Much like a job application, the first step of the program is the application. It will help us to know you a little better, and put your gifts and skills into camp. Your application will be considered complete once the Google Form Application has been submitted by the teen with their 30 second elevator pitch video attached!

LITs will go on a teen-only field trip every other week focused on service or fun. They will also attend the field trip with the day campers each week as extra eyes and ears and beginning to understand the high responsibility of supervising children and safety. This is a wonderful program for building teen leadership, confidence, service-oriented work and our next generation of staff. We look forward to building leaders this summer!
