AN EMAIL FROM OUR FOUNDER SENT TOO ALL CURRENT FAMILIES ON MARCH 20, 2020

Dear Loyal Moms and Dads;
This is Jeff Metzger, Founder of Kids First and Kids First Too. I hope this email finds you and your family in good health during these unprecedented times. Everyone in the Kids First family remains healthy.
First, a couple paragraphs of history followed by a promise to you, your children and the community:

History
The last seven days have been surreal around Kids First and Kids First TOO. As a 70 yr. old father of five and grandfather of 11, my state of mind alternates between feeling as if I am role playing in a drill for worst-case-scenario planning and getting slapped in the face with escalating reminders that this is not a drill. We have a real health threat and many small businesses like ours will not be able to re-open after the health threat subsides.
I started Kids First in 1973 as a labor of love. It was purely by accident* that I discovered I loved teaching kids gymnastics. (* Literally, by accident: a broken leg forced my retirement from the University gymnastics team at which time I accepted a Saturday morning job teaching tumbling at a Ft. Thomas dance studio.)
Short months after discovering my teaching passion, I dropped out of the UC Mechanical Engineering college to support myself with three part-time jobs teaching gymnastics. Truly an accidental start to a wonderfully fulfilling career.

Today
Today, walking through our ghost-like facilities was more difficult than I could ever imagine. The buildings are dark and cold with the thermostats at maintenance settings. The usual joyful chatter of kids having fun while learning was substituted with a tomb-like silence. ‘Sad' does not begin to capture the emotion.

Our Promise
This promise is to you, your children, the amazing Kids First and Kids First TOO staff, 250 strong and the community—We will weather this storm and come back strong. To whatever extent necessary, every dollar I have ever saved will be pledged to our recovery and rebuilding. At the moment, our Company has trimmed every non-essential expense and is paying as much as it can to as many staff as it can while still servicing the mortgage, utilities, debt and insurance payments.
To come back strong (which means staying current with mortgage payments and retaining our amazing teachers and support crew) requires careful budgeting and you can help our cause significantly.

As you know, tuition is auto-debited on the 25th of each month and that date is approaching. We have arranged three options:

OPTION #1. REMAIN ENROLLED AND EARN 10% - PLEASE RESPOND
Classroom and Team families remaining enrolled will be significantly rewarded:
110% Family Loyalty Credit (FLC). During our pause of operations, 110% of all tuition dollars your family pays beginning April 1 will be held as a credit to your account in the form of a “Family Loyalty Credit” (FLC). Your total FLC will be divided evenly over 10 months to reduce future tuitions.
EXAMPLE: Assume, our pause of operations continues through April and May with resumption of operations on June 1.

If your family’s tuition is $100/month your two month total is $200.
Add in an additional 10% ($20) brings your total FLC to $220.
The full $220 will be used evenly over the next 10 months once we resume operations.

One more thing: if the resumption of operations is anything other than the first of a month, all numbers will be pro-rated to that date.
Extra Thank You #1: You will also receive one FREE Pass per enrolled child per month of paused operations in your choice of:

Open Play (Tumble Bees, Walking thru K)
Open Gym (All Boys/Girls Gym Jam and Gymnastics Teams and Cheer Teams)

Extra Thank You #2: COURTESY OF RECREATIONS OUTLET

One 6-punch play pass
1/2 price on one party
$50 off install of any swing set, trampoline or basketball hoop.

Thank you sincerely for considering this option. We won’t let you down.

OPTION #2. TUITION RELIEF OPTION. Families who choose this option will only pay $15 per month per enrolled child and retain their class spots. When classes resume, families will receive $15 off monthly tuition per student for each month tuition relief was paid.
EXAMPLE: Assume our pause of operations continues through April and May with resumption of operations on June 1.
One Child Enrolled:

Your family pays a total of $30 ($15 in April and $15 in May).
You will receive $15 off your first two months tuition when we resume operations.

Two Children Enrolled:

Your family pays a total of $60 ($30 in April and $30 in May).
You will receive $30 off your first two months tuition when we resume operations. ($15 per month off 1st Child and $15 per month off 2nd child)

Extra Thank You #1: You will also receive one FREE pass of your choice per enrolled child.

Open Play (Tumble Bees, Walking thru K)

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL TO TELL US IF YOU CHOOSE OPTION 1, 2 OR OPTION 3.

I will depart with a heartfelt THANK YOU. Thank you for believing and especially for entrusting your most precious treasure to us. And, more than can be expressed in words, thank you for your continued support.
Wishing you, your loved ones and especially all who have been hurt by this virus a speedy return to normal.
